Information Architecture for an Education Center Blog

Education Center Information Architecture.

The Education Center on the Kennedy Violins website did not previously have an intuitive navigation system for users to find the information they needed. Most blog posts were simply not visible on the front end, and were not tagged appropriately for easy online display. To begin the process of revising the site structure, the first step was to plan how the information would be organized.

Since there was significant traffic to some existing blog posts my coworker (Developer/SEO) advised that, rather than link to an external WordPress site, we try to work within the limitations of the native Shopify CMS.

I proposed the tag structure shown (Shopify does not include a category level for native blogs), which used fewer main groups and the ability to filter the tags. My coworker was then able to devise an innovative back-end system for organizing the information with the tags. There were a few items that changed from this initial concept during the working process, of course. You can see a larger view of the document by clicking on the image below.

Online Advertising for Kennedy Violins

Desktop in-article online ad.

Here is a set of ads produced for use by one online publication.

Role: Concept, design, and production.
NOTE: I fully support free commerce. People of all political or cultural segments should have the opportunity to buy a violin for their child. However,  I do not want to promote this particular online publication on my personal site, so  its name has been hidden.

Lifesyle Photoshoot for LUCA Watches

Workplace lifestyle image featuring the BR-1 pearl watch.

This photoshoot included photoshoot planning, coordination, and photo direction to obtain lifestyle images for a new Men’s watch brand. I supplied mood boards to the studio prior to the shoot and created this photo planning PDF for use on set to keep track of the photos that were being completed.

These images were shot at PureRed Studios in Portland, OR.
